Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Follow these detailed steps for a successful installation of your Simple Pump system.

Deep Well Hand Pump Install

Site Preparation and Safety Tips

Ensure proper workspace setup, safety equipment, and well access clearance before beginning installation.

Measuring Static Water Level

Use a water level meter to determine exact depth and calculate required drop pipe length.

Installing Drop Pipes and Pump Cylinder

Carefully lower the pump cylinder and connect drop pipe sections with proper threading and sealing.

Attaching the Pump Head and Lever Handle

Mount the pump head assembly and adjust the lever handle for optimal pumping efficiency.

Leak Testing and Adjustments

Test all connections for leaks and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation.

Simple Pump Inline Dual-Pump Valve Assembly Installation

Connect Submersible Pump to Simple Pump Inline Dual-Pump Valve Assembly

Thread the Simple Pump Inline Dual-Pump Valve Assembly onto the submersible pump suction port (NPT connection). Valve-1/2-Assy for ½" port (W2H); Valve-1-Assy for 1" port (W3H/W3C).

Install Spring Check Valve

Install a spring check valve above the Simple Pump Inline Dual-Pump Valve Assembly, between the valve and the Simple Pump cylinder. This ensures correct flow direction for both pumping modes.

Connect Simple Pump Cylinder

Thread the Simple Pump cylinder onto the spring check valve above the assembly. Continue with existing Simple Pump drop pipes up to the pump head.

Route Solar or Power Cable

For Workhorse solar submersible installations: tape solar cable to Simple Pump drop pipe with electrical tape. Cable exits through Simple Pump well cap port to PSC100 controller at surface.

Final Test and Operation

Verify both pumping modes: submersible operation and manual hand pump. Run comprehensive tests to confirm water output and proper valve switching.

Pitless & Non-Pitless Setup

Choosing the Correct Well Cap

Select appropriate well cap size and type based on your casing diameter and installation requirements.

Mounting Through Split Flange or Wall Plate

Install mounting hardware with proper sealing to prevent contamination and ensure structural integrity.

Connecting to Plumbing and Priming

Make final plumbing connections and prime the system for initial operation and testing.

Common Installation Mistakes to Avoid

Learn from common pitfalls to ensure your installation goes smoothly the first time.

  • ×Not measuring static water level accurately
  • ×Improper threading and sealing of drop pipe connections
  • ×Incorrect pump head alignment and mounting
  • ×Inadequate well cap sealing allowing contamination
  • ×Motor installation without proper clearance checks
